What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored in the browser. Records in localStorage play a similar role. We use them sparingly — no ad networks and no retargeting pixels.
Necessary
These records are needed so your consent choice works. They do not require separate consent.
- fx_consent — a cookie, 12 months, stores whether you accepted statistics or necessary cookies only.
- fx-cookie-consent — a localStorage record with the same value, so we do not show the bar again.
The admin login at /admin/ uses a separate session cookie for staff only. It is not set on public pages.
Statistics — only after “Accept”
If you accept, we load Vercel Web Analytics. It is a first-party script of our host (Vercel). It counts visits and pages viewed so we can see what is useful on the site. We do not use it for advertising. If you choose “Necessary only”, the script is not loaded.
Other technologies that are not our cookies
- The origin map draws borders from public data (Natural Earth) in the browser — no request to a map server and no cookie from us.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
- The inquiry form sends data to our mail server; that is not a cookie.
How to change your choice
You can accept statistics or stay with necessary cookies only. The choice is kept for about 12 months.
You can also delete cookies for this site from your browser settings.
